POMERANIANS (occasionally) bred with Love

RECOMMENDED BY THE KENNEL CLUB

On this website, we have tried to give potential owners of Pomeranian Puppies some help and advice, warn them of any pitfalls, also direct them to reputable breeders of this wonderful little dog.

We only have only the odd litter ourselves but can recommend several reputable breeders for a puppy, and ALWAYS suggest FIRST checking the Kennel Club website for puppies available.

The 40yrs experience I have had breeding Siamese Cats - under the Prefix SHARUE (www.sharue-siamese.co.uk), has stood me in good stead, I am alreay well aware of the nastiness, lies, deceit and bitchiness of some Pomeranian breeders who really need to get a life!

I therefore personally prefer the "pet" breeder, who has nothing to prove, does not "Stage" photo's for their website (when the poor little dogs are really NEVER ALLOWED IN THE HOUSE) so would advise you to not be fooled by websites, go and make sure you see the way the dogs live and WHERE they live!

Personally having gone through many rather "traumatic" years of showing Cats and Horses in the past 50years or so, plus knowing the bitchiness and nastiness that goes on, I would rather see animals bred for good quality, health stamina and excellent temperament; in other words: loving pets to sit on your lap. Where I feel they are much safer and generally happier, plus they are not shut in a hot car whilst the "exhibitor" has another dog in the ring.

Some animals do actually enjoy being shown, my Gr.Ch. Sharue Sun Prince was the biggest poser in the Cat World!

You could say " I've certainly been there and done that"DSCF1027

The Pomeranian is originally from Germany and a member of the Spitz family. When the Pomeranian first came to the U.K., they were much larger in size and produced litters of up to 10 puppies, but breeders do what breeders do, and due to likes and dislikes over the years various changes have been made to the breed, and the breed specification set down by the Governing Body has changed considerably.

This has resulted in some cases of bitches only producing ONE puppy in a litter - and my opinion is that perhaps the "improving the breed" idea's by breeders have not really been an improvement, as it is certainly not normal for a member of the canine family to only have a single pup in a litter - more like 4 - 6 would be I feel better for the breed, they then would not be so scarce - also there would not be people advertising puppies as pure Pomeranians which are nothing more than mongrels - very sad the way people and animals are exploited in this way.

One thing I would sincerely recommend you check when purchasing a small puppy is that the "fontanelle" (fontanel) is not open, this is a small hole in the scull and can of course make the puppy extremely delicate and is not desirable in a pup.

To a novice, a fluffy puppy with a curly tail looks pretty much like any other fluffy puppy etc., however to a trained eye it is obvious it is not pure and within 6 - 9 months you realise you have been hoodwinked, instead of getting fuller and longer, the coat starts getting thinner, the tail of course should be   curling over the back and grow incredibly long, getting much fuller with age. The coat hair is thick with double coat and not soft tending to be somewhat course in texture as the dog reaches adulthood.

Oh Sylvia, i have wonderful news. I went to visit a breeder today in nottinghamshire, she has 3 beautiful kc reg pom pups, (have seen all the paperwork) their parents are her family pets, so i spent a couple of hours getting to know the pups with mum and dad. needless to say i have left a deposit on one girl. the breeder will get her both sets of needles and microchipped for me. I am so happy. I couldn't of done this without the guidance of your wonderful website. Thank you so much and keep up the good work.

Kindest regards, Susan Taylor. (p.s. i will email you pics of her once she's home with me if you'd like) xxx

Hi Sylvia,
I did send you a text on Saturday night - don't know if you got it though. He has been an absolute angel....has taken to his new home really really well. All his toilets have been either on the newspaper or the grass in the garden, he's been eating & drinking fine. We bought him a bed yesterday and he slept in that all last night (next to our bed). Yesterday we had some of my family around for an hour or so (including my little brother & sister who are 8 and 6 years old). He was   really happy to meet new people and didn't have any problems being cuddled by the kids. He's been fine in the car and we had to leave him for the first time this morning for an hour (had to go to the bank for an appointment) which I was really worried about but when we came back he was just nesting on the sofa seemingly happy as larry!!! So, I've brought him in to my office, he's had a good sniff around and is now settled down for a nap (See pic attached). I hate to say it but I think he may well be the perfect puppy!!! We've named him Monty. I didn't have my camera at home over the weekend but I am going to bring it home with me tonight so I will try to get some more pics and send them on to you.
He is such a joy and we are so happy to have him so THANK YOU!!! I hope you are feeling a bit better today?
Kisses to the kittens,
Love Beccah x

Sylvia,
I am so impressed that you are taking so much time in helping and protecting innocent people from getting conned by these scammers
Kind regards

========================================================

It was great talking with you last week.   My son's birthday went great and he understood that we couldn't get the right puppy for he and our pet family.   We will keep searching for a pup or dog to rehome.   We will return from Miami on 8 June so if anything comes up please let me know.   My personal email address is ....................   This can be passed on to anyone.   You can pass on my phone number but not post it.     If you want to post my mobile it is ...............

I haven't received my deposit back from the people selling the cross pups and they seem to have disappeared off e-pupz so I guess it must have been dodgy...poor pups.

Anyway, thanks again for your great and informative conversation.
Regards
Michael

Dear Sylvia

I have spoken to you on several occasions now. You may not remember me as I know that you deal with a lot of people. I would just like to take this opportunity to tell you how fantastic your work is, I truly admire you. I visit your page every day, and I’ am so pleased that you put the named and shamed section back on the website, as I know that you stopped doing it before. I think you are very brave to do this as there are some very nasty aggressive con artists out there who should be named and shamed.

Puppy farming needs to stop it’s a pure act of cruelty, and with you naming and shaming people then hopefully we can put a stop to it. I recommend your website to a lot of people who are looking for a Pomeranian. I admire the fact that you, use a lot of your time helping innocent vulnerable people whom want Pomeranians but are not sure what they are looking for (as pups all look the same) and they can then fall prey of the con artists on E-Pupz and Pre loved advertising for pure poms ---with no papers!!!!!!....

Sylvia you are an inspiration to us all your hard work is very much appreciated!!! I know there must be times when you are doing so much work helping other people and updating your website and it must be a lot for you, but please know there is a lot of people out there just like me who love your website who go on it every day to look and the news and views and what’s happing with your beautiful poms so please know your hard work does pay off. Thank you again all the best to you and your family and your beautiful poms!!!! Keep up the hard work- didn’t need to say that as I know you will!!! xxxx

Love Kelly Lowe xxxxx
